Cleaning without Cleaning products

From an old cook book, I found these suggestions, some are even grandma’s way of cleaning.
Baking Soda, made from soda ash and easily neutralizes odors in water and absorbs them from the air. It can be a gentle abrasive cleaner for counters, sinks, and ovens. Add a cup along with your detergent for a cleaner smelling laundry. (look at the main ingredient on powdered carpet freshener).
Baking Soda and Vinegar, for a clogged drain. Pour ½ cup baking soda down the drain, and then 1 cup vinegar. When it foams, flush with boiling water.
Club Soda, spot cleaner. Pour a little on the stain, let it set a few minutes, then blot with a damp sponge.
Ketchup, cooper cleaner. Pour some ketchup on copper bottomed pans, smear it all over the bottom and let is set for an hour. For those tough stains, a little elbow grease will help them. (the acid from the tomatoes does the work)
Peanut Butter, works great to remove labels from glass and plastic. Pull off as much of the label as possible, then cover with the peanut butter, gently scrape away. (I have been told this also works to remove gum from hair).
Toothpaste, for crayon marks on walls. Squeeze a little toothpaste onto a soft, clean cloth, gently rub, and marks will disappear. (works great to fill holes after removing pictures from the wall)
Walnuts, cover scratches in wood furniture . Break a walnut in half and rub it directly into the scratch.
Newspapers, the very best cloth for washing windows. After you have washed the window with ½ cup vinegar, 2 T cornstarch, and 1 gallon water use the newspaper to dry the window. (wear gloves as the newspaper print will turn you hands black).
Shampoo or Toothpaste, rub either on a grass stain. Rinse and wash as usual (our sons came up with this one while playing football).
