The following are uses I’ve found or read about for fabric softener sheets. And all this time you’ve just been putting Fabric Softener Sheets in the dryer!

Yellow Jackets: Use them all the time when playing baseball and soccer. I use it when I am working outside It really works. The yellow jackets just veer around you.

Ants: It will chase ants away when you lay a sheet near them.

Mice: It also repels mice…spread them around foundation areas, or in trailers, cars that are sitting and it keeps mice from entering your vehicle. (A friend of mine said she deep cleans her kitchen cupboards every six months and changes the fabric sheets when she does this, never seen a sign of a mouse.)

Mosquitoes: Repels mosquitoes. Tie a sheet of Fabric Softener through a belt loop when outdoors during mosquito season. (Our daughter-in-law while visiting her grandfather, asked why Grandma hadn’t removed the sheets after washing his clothes, he replied he was keeping the bugs away.)

Bees: Golfers put a Fabric Softener sheet in their back pocket to keep the bees away.

Static Electricity: Eliminates static electricity from your television (or computer) screen. (We live on a dusty country road, my computer screen and TV were always dust covered, Not any more!!)

Venetian Blinds: Eliminate static electricity from Venetian blinds. Wipe the blinds with a sheet of Fabric Softener to prevent dust from resettling. (a friend of ours said she tried this one, even after a month her blinds are still clean.)

Ceiling Fans: After cleaning your ceiling fan, rub the blades with a Fabric Softener Sheet, works great to keep the build up around the edges and top of the fan. (After reading all the uses I came up with this one, been doing it for about 6 months now and works great.)

Soap Scum: Dissolve soap scum from shower doors. Clean with a sheet of Fabric Softener.

Air Freshener: Freshen the air in your home. Place an individual sheet of Fabric Softener in a drawer or hang in the closet.

Vacuum Cleaner: Put Bounce sheet in vacuum cleaner.

Dirty Laundry: Eliminate odors in dirty laundry. Place an individual sheet of Fabric Softener at the bottom of a laundry bag or hamper.

Shoes and Sneakers: Deodorize shoes or sneakers. Place a sheet of Fabric Softener in your shoes or sneakers overnight. (Works great on kids tennies.)

Dog and Cat Hair: Collect cat hair. Rubbing the area with a sheet of Fabric Softener will magnetically attract all the loose hairs.

Musty Odors: Prevent musty suitcases. Place an individual sheet of Fabric Softener inside empty luggage before storing. (We only travel about once a year, our suitcases are stored in the garage, this does work.)

Cars: Freshen the air in your car. Place a sheet of Fabric Softener under the front seat. (I used to use a bag of Coffee.)

Baked on Food: Clean baked-on foods from a cooking pan. Put a sheet in a pan, fill with water, let sit overnight, and sponge clean. The anti-static agent apparently weakens the bond Between the food.

Wastebaskets: Eliminate odors in wastebaskets. Place a sheet of Fabric Softener at the bottom of the wastebasket.

Books and Photo Albums: It takes the odor out of books and photo albums that don’t get opened too often. (Use with caution, on old books this can leave a mark.)

Sewing: Prevent thread from tangling. Run a threaded needle through sheet of Fabric Softener before beginning to sew.

Tents and Sleeping Bags: Put a Fabric Softener sheet in your sleeping bag and tent before folding and storing them. Keeps them smelling fresh.

Sawdust: Wipe up sawdust from drilling or sand papering. A used sheet of Fabric Softener will collect sawdust like a tack cloth.

We don’t know how true this is but some of you might think it is worth a try.  If you have additional uses, please let us hear from you!
